Descriptive research does exactly what is implied, it describes a phenomenon by answering the who's, what's, when's, where's, and how's. The difference between descriptive research and experimental research, is that descriptive research does not try to prove any type of causation. Instead, descriptive research is more a statistical research that deals with anything that can be counted and studied. It describes the characteristics of any given population without trying to prove "why".
